Frequently asked questions

What's the difference with macOS's native window tiling?

macOS offers tiling by hovering the green button or through Stage Manager, but it requires aiming with the mouse and the choice of positions stays limited. SeventySnap works entirely from the keyboard, with no button to aim at, offering 8 positions (halves, corners, full screen, centered) accessible from anywhere on your Mac.

Why does the app ask for the Accessibility permission?

SeventySnap needs the Accessibility authorization to move and resize the window you're using, only when you ask it to. The app never reads what you type and never monitors anything continuously: it only acts when you press one of the shortcuts.

Does it work with multiple displays?

Yes. SeventySnap snaps the window on whichever screen it's already on: positions (half, corner, full screen, centered) are calculated relative to that exact screen, not the main display.

Can I customize the shortcuts or the gap between windows?

The gap between windows is adjustable in the app (none, 8 or 16 pixels) and applies instantly, with a toggle for the 4 corner shortcuts. The keys themselves follow a fixed scheme (arrows for halves and center, U/I/J/K for corners), designed to be memorized in one go.

What's the difference between the website version and the App Store one?

It's the same app. On this website: a free 7-day trial, then a 6.90 CHF one-time license with automatic updates. On the App Store: direct purchase, updates through Apple. Pick whichever suits you.
